Biography
Caroline Bernard and Damien Guichard have been collaborating for twenty years under the name Lili range le chat. Their works are often the result of travel or the exploration of a territory, whether onsite or from a distance. Using contemporary tools for image capture such as webcams situated in urban spaces or GPS, they sample factual data from their environment in order to elevate them to a poetical dimension and give rise to unseen visual forms.
Both of them are currently artist-researchers at the Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD). Caroline Bernard heads the research lab Prospectives de l’image at the École nationale supérieure de la photographie d’Arles (ENSP, France) where she teaches as well. She is also an associate professor at the École des arts visuels et médiatiques of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Together, they have realized exhibitions, workshops and conferences in numerous countries (Brazil, France, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Uzbekistan, Switzerland…). http://lilirangelechat.com
