Weaving together words and images, Anne-Marie Proulx creates poetic worlds drawing on our conversations with the land and our relationship with language. She works with images, mainly photographic, to question the physical and metaphorical spaces that we occupy and which conversely also inhabit us.

Her photographic work has been presented in exhibitions at Arprim (Montréal, 2022), Espace F (Matane, 2020), Vaste et Vague (Carleton-sur-Mer, 2019), the Maison de la littérature in conjunction with Manif d’art 9 – la biennale de Québec (Québec, 2019), the Galerie des arts visuels at Université Laval (Québec, 2018), Occurrence in conjunction with MOMENTA Biennale de l’image (Montréal, 2017), YYZ (Toronto, 2017), Panache art actuel (Baie-Comeau, 2016) and La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse (Montréal, 2014). Her works were also shown internationally in collective exhibitions at Canada House (London, UK, 2022), Stryx (Birmingham, UK, 2019), xhibit, exhibition space at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Austria, 2019) and FRAC Lorraine (Metz, France, 2018).

Her photobook Le jardin d’après was published by Éditions Loco in 2021. She lives and works in Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies and in Québec City, where she is codirector of VU, centre de diffusion et de production de la photographie. [Source : VOX, 2023]
