Annette Kelm

Annette Kelm was born in 1975 in Stuttgart, Germany, and studied at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg; she is currently based in Berlin. Her work has been exhibited internationally in several institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit (2016); the Haus Lange Museum in Krefeld, Germany, and the Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York (2015); the König Gallery, Berlin (2014) ; the Taka Ishii Gallery, Tokyo (2013), and the Presentation House Gallery in Vancouver (2012). Kelm has participated in numerous group exhibitions, such as Mit anderen Augen, at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, Germany (2016) ; Perfect Likeness: Photography and Composition at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2015); and New Photography 2013 at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2013). Kelm is the recipient of the Camera Austria Award for contemporary art (2015); the ART COLOGNE-Award for young art (2005); and the Kodak Young Photographers Award (1999). She was shortlisted for the AIMIA Photography Prize in 2015, followed by a group exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Kelm is represented by the Herald St Gallery, London; the Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York; the König Galery, Berlin; and the Marc Foxx Gallery, Los Angeles. Her work has been collected by the Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, Germany, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
