Doug Hall

An internationally known American artist, Doug Hall has been presenting his work since the early 1970s, first in the form of performance, then as installations; now, he devotes himself almost exclusively to photography and video. He has a degree in anthropology from Harvard University and a master’s degree in fine art, and he has taught and been a guest lecturer at institutions such as the University of São Paulo in Brazil and the San Francisco Art Institute. His works are included in many museum collections in the United States and Europe. Oriented around the idea of ritual contained in mass communications, his work investigates the use of image media and the representational codes connected to them.
