Geneviève Marcil is an art historian, art worker and curator. She completed a master’s degree in art history at Université du Québec à Montréal (2018). Her interests reside in the study of material and conceptual considerations in artistic practices in relation with the socioeconomic context of the post-war period. She co-curated the exhibitions Reading Performance. An Annotated Bibliography in Real Time: Performance Art in Quebec and Canada III (Artexte, 2017) and “Créer à rebours vers l’exposition”: The case of Art et féminisme (VOX, 2021). She has worked as a research assistant at Dia Art Foundation where she contributed to the organization of the first major U.S. retrospective of Charlotte Posenenske’s work and to Dia’s accompanying publication. Since 2020, she has served as assistant coordinator and coordinator of exhibitions, communications and education at VOX, centre de l’image contemporaine. [Source: VOX, 2023]
