Josianne Poirier holds a master’s degree in urban studies from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). She is currently a doctoral student and lecturer in art history at the Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on the relationship between art, culture and urban space, and her thesis questions the aesthetic and symbolic uses of light in the contemporary city’s public spaces. Since 2014, she has acted as a visual art expert advisor for the Politique d’intégration des arts à l’architecture et à l’environnement of the Government of Quebec.
