Nadia Myre

Nadia Myre (1974–) is an Algonquin-heritage visual artist who lives and works in Montréal. She employs collaborative processes as a strategy for engaging in conversations about identity, resilience, and the politics of belonging. Recent exhibitions include Code Switching, at Art Mûr (Leipzig, 2017) and Decolonial Gestures or Doing it Wrong? Refaire le chemin, at The McCord Museum (Montréal, 2016). She is the recipient of the Walter Phillips Gallery Indigenous Commission Award (2016), the 2016–17 Koerner Artist-In-Residence, and the 2014 Sobey Art Award. She has participated in international biennials: the Shanghai Biennale (2014), MANIF d’art 7, the Québec City Biennial (2013), the 18th Biennale of Sydney (2012), and the Biennale de Montréal (2011). Her work can be found in collections, such as those of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, the National Gallery of Canada, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.
