Petunia Alves

Of Brazilian origin, Petunia Alves has lived and worked in Montreal since 1983. Involved in the independent video scene she became codirector at GIV in 1990. Active in the women’s movement she directs and codirects tapes on challenges facing women. She has collaborated with artists Lyne Lapointe, Martha Fleming and Marik Boudreau on numerous projects. Her current works deal with memory.
