Terrance Houle (1975–) is an interdisciplinary media artist and member of the Kainai Nation (Blood Tribe) who lives and works in Calgary. Involved with Aboriginal communi­ties, he travels to reservations throughout North America participating in pow-wow dancing and Indigenous cer­emonies. In his practice, he reflects on Indigenous and non-Indigenous conceptions through performance, photography, video, music, and various tools of mass dis­semination. His work has been presented in Canada, the United States, Australia, the UK, and Europe, with exhi­bitions including Ghost Days, L’Écart (Rouyn-Noranda, 2016); NILWLNA, Urban Shaman Gallery (Winnipeg, 2015); and Rebel Yell, FOFA Gallery (Montréal, 2015). He received the award for best experimental film at the Toronto imag­ineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival in 2004 and the Enbridge Emerging Artist Award in 2006. [Source: VOX, 2017]
