As part of Rémi Belliveau's exhibition Dans la peau de l’histoire. Becoming Joan Dularge, and in collaboration with MOMENTA and Artexte, VOX invites you to a musical listening workshop with the artist.
You will be invited to participate in a discussion nourished by music. Inspired by Belliveau’s work L’Empremier. Live at Beaubassin (1970), you will travel back in time as you listen to songs imbued with nostalgia. In anticipation of the workshop, you can think of a special song you'd like to share with the group!
Acadian cultural heritage and the fiction behind the construction of foundational narratives are key to Rémi Belliveau’s practice. Since 2018, Belliveau has been developing a long-term project on Joan Dularge, a “missing” figure in the history of Acadian political rock music of the 1960s and 1970s. For their exhibition at VOX, Belliveau will première the second section of their project, centered around an ambitious film that reconstructs one of Joan Dularge’s legendary concerts.
