Henrik Håkansson
Henrik Håkansson was born in 1968 in Helsingborg, Sweden; he currently resides in Berlin.
His works involve the observing and recording of natural ecosystems and microcosms, and their reconstitution in the gallery both literally and spatially by means of videography. They have been the subject of numerous solo shows, including at The Modern Institute in Glasgow, 2006; Villa Merkel in Esslingen, 2004; the Moderna Museet, Stockholm, 2003; and Secession, Vienna, 2002. Group expositions have included the Biennale d’art contemporain de Lyon, 2005; the São Paulo Biennale, 2004; and the Venice Biennale, 2003. Henrik Håkansson will also be showing his work at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver and The Power Plant in Toronto in 2006. He is represented by Galleria Franco Noero in Turin, Italy.
