Lena Bui
Lena Bui (Lêna Bùi) is a visual artist based in Ho Chi Minh City. Working primarily with painting and video, her works are both amusing anecdotes and in-depth articulations of the impact of rapid development on people’s relationship with nature and their surroundings. Her work moves back and forth between various cultures and values, sometimes comparing and contrasting them to better understand the socio-political make-up of the society she lives in and how that shapes the way we move forward as a whole.
Bui’s works have been shown in a number of exhibitions and screenings, including the 15th Shanghai Biennale (2025), Galerie Urs Meile (2025), Kyoto Art Center (2025), Bangkok Art Biennale (2024), Nguyen Art Foundation (2024), Asian Film Archive (2023), Jeju Biennale (2022), Asia Culture Center (2021), and Sharjah Art Foundation (2018).
