Phan Anh
Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Anh views labor as a fundamental part of his artistic practice. Working with video, installation, drawing, writing, and performance, he uses his own body and everyday objects as materials to experiment with, uncovering overlooked possibilities within established narratives. His process is labor-intensive, emphasizing progress over fixed outcomes. Every stage of the work is seen as a piece in itself, and the final outcome remains unpredictable. Through this approach, Phan Anh reflects on the ever-changing nature of perception, challenges dominant narratives and predefined structures, and reexamines history.
