Philippe Poloni

Philippe Poloni (1959-2024) is an artist, performer, and writer born in Paris. He earned a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal and studied literature, philosophy, and photography in Montreal and New York. He created several videos and performances, collaborating notably with Daniel Dion (Système des beaux-arts, 1981; L’Homme de Pékin, 1982). His works–videos, paintings, photographs, and installations–have been presented in Canada, Europe, and the United States, including at MoMA PS1 in 1983.

He dedicated himself to writing starting in the 1990s and published several novels: Olivo Oliva (1999), Des truites à la tomate (2002) and Mon chaperon rouge (2006). [Source : VOX, 2025]
