Portrait of Stéphane Cocke in 1985.

For the past 30 years, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing my passion for music in different parts of the world, whether intimate or vast, through my DJ performances, with constant research at the forefront – as someone who’s curious about everything, drawing on the international cultural heritage of film, poetry, music and literature. It’s an act of communication that’s essential to me and which, when it works, makes our souls resonate long after the ephemeral magic moment.

Having worked on a number of projects for festivals, museum exhibitions, collaborations and international projects, and having hosted a radio show for ten years on CIBL, I explored other avenues for more intimate communication, which eventually led me to create TELEPOÈME, a cut-up-style montage of texts and short sound extracts designed to be heard through a phone booth. Since 2019, TELEPOÈME has been presented at Wishbone Gallery, in the exhibition Seeing Loud: Basquiat and Music at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2022–2023), in the exhibition Divina Dalí in Toronto (2023) and at the Guido Molinari Foundation for the exhibition Correspondences by Fiona Annis (2024).
