As part of the exhibition 1985. Image-Worlds, VOX and cinéma-cinéma invite you to a special screening of Videodrome (1983) by David Cronenberg.

Released in the neoliberal, postmodern, and technophilic context of the 1980s, Videodrome still resonates today with contemporary anxieties surrounding the ease and excess of exposure to images. Exercising control both physically and mentally, television becomes flesh, subjugating the gaze to pleasure, domination, and violence. We follow the protagonist, Max Renn, the director of a television channel that broadcasts shocking and pornographic content. When he stumbles upon a mysterious pirate show, Videodrome, he plunges into a spiral of violence, manipulation, and bodily transformations.

The student initiative cinéma-cinéma offers free screenings of films with the aim of sharing and discovering significant films from the 20th and 21st centuries.
