n.b.k. x VOX
Works from the n.b.k. Video-Forum collection
2026.10.15 – 11.28
Between October 2026 and May 2027, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) and VOX will co-present a video program featuring works from the n.b.k. Video-Forum collection. Grouped into three thematic cycles, the program examines infrastructures and their roles in shaping connections and divisions.
Infrastructures encompass material realities—such as transport and utility networks—as well as intangible relationships and invisible frameworks of rules, power structures and technological environments that shape our existence. They are what hold us together beneath the surface, enabling us to connect with one another and the world—whether across spatial distances and physical boundaries, through the mechanisms of perception, or by situating us within the social fabric. The artistic contributions are thematically organized into three groups: questions of mobility and movement, questions of media-influenced perception, and questions regarding social agency, ascriptions and norms that shape our everyday lives and, ultimately, our ways of living.
Upcoming program description and essay.
The n.b.k. Video-Forum collection
Founded in 1971 as an artists’ initiative, the Video-Forum of Neuer Berliner Kunstverein is the oldest and, with over 1,800 works, one of the major public video art collections in Germany and Europe. The focal points of the collection are Fluxus, feminist video, the historical and contemporary situation of video art in Berlin, video art from Eastern Europe and approaches reflecting on the media. The collection has been continually expanded through co-productions and an-nual acquisitions.
A joint project by VOX and n.b.k. Video-Forum (Berlin), with the support of the Goethe-Institut Montreal and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
