Doriane Biot is a cultural worker, curator, and writer based in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal. She holds a degree from the École de recherche graphique (Brussels), as well as a Master’s in Visual Culture from the University of Aberdeen and a Master’s in Museology from the Université de Montréal. Her interests and practice revolve around the narratives and gestures of capture and exhibition of the moving image, approached in dialogue with the socio-cultural contexts that shape them. She is involved in film programming and curatorial projects, having served as Exhibition Coordinator at the Cinémathèque québécoise from 2020 to 2023, while also working independently. Among her curatorial projects are the group exhibition Refus contraire (co-curated with Véronique Hudon and Camille Richard), presented at Galerie de l’UQAM in 2018, and Porteuses, presented at La Centrale for contemporary art in 2025. In parallel, she contributes essays and reviews to publications such as Blink Blank, 24 images, Hors champ, and Intermédialités, and participates in collective publications on the moving image and exhibition practices.
