Geert Goiris
Geert Goiris (born 1971) lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium. He teaches practice-based research at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and a the Sint-Lukas Brussels University College of Art and Design, and is also a visiting lecturer at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. His work has been extensively shown in Europe. Recent solo shows have included Whiteout and Other Stories, at the Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg (2011); Darkcloud, at Galerie Art : Concept, Paris (2012); and Geert Goiris, at M – Museum Leuven (2013). He has also taken part in the group exhibitions Fresh Hell, at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2010); Le silence. Une fiction, at the Villa Paloma of the Nouveau Musée National in Monaco (2012); and The Earth Turns and All Things Slip Away, at Hunt Kastner Gallery, Prague (2013). His works are in several international institutional collections including the Fonds national d’art contemporain (France), the Musée d’art moderne de la Ville de Paris, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Caja de Burgos (Spain), Fotomuseum, Antwerp (Belgium), the Seattle Art Museum (United States) and MUDAM Luxembourg.
