Guillaume Désanges
Guillaume Désanges lives and works in Paris.
An art critic and curator, he is also the founder of Work Method, an independent agency for artistic projects. He is a member of the editorial board of Trouble magazine, and he collaborates with Exit Express and Exit Book, based in Madrid, Spain. After coordinating the artistic projects of Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers (2001-2007), he’s been an invited curator in charge of programming at l’Espace d’art contemporain La Tôlerie, in Clermont-Ferrand (2007-2008), and an invited curator at Le Plateau – FRAC d’Île-de-France, in Paris (Érudition concrète, 2009-2011). Many exhibitions organised by Désanges have travelled through Europe, such as Jiri Kovanda vs Reste du monde (tentatives de rapproche-ment) presented at galerie gb agency in Paris (2006), De Appel arts centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Centre d’art La Passerelle in Brest, France, École régionale des beaux-arts de Valence, France, and Centro de Arte Santa Monica in Barcelona, Spain (2007). He has also developed several performance-like projects such as Signs and Wonders, previously shown at the Tate Modern in London and the Centre national d’art et de culture Georges-Pompidou in Paris.
