Jean Gagnon

Jean Gagnon is an independent curator and art critic, having previously served as Curator of Media Arts at the National Gallery of Canada, Executive Director of the Daniel Langlois Foundation and Director of Preservation and Access to Collections at the Cinémathèque québécoise. He has published numerous texts and articles in exhibition catalogues and art magazines at home and abroad. His most recent book, Vidéocaméléon, deals with the history of video art in Quebec in the 1970s and 1980s. He has recently completed a study of language, rhythm and music in the work of Michael Snow. He sits on the board of directors of the contemporary art magazine Ciel variable. [Source: VOX, 2025]
