VOX, in collaboration with the gallery Black Artists’ Networks in Dialogue (BAND), invites you to a special evening designed as a living extension of the exhibition And Then, Perhaps, a Memory by Michaëlle Sergile. Curated by Joséphine Denis, Co-Director of BAND, this event offers a space for reflection, intergenerational dialogue, and transmission. Through a multi-voiced program, the evening extends the essential questions that preoccupied Michaëlle Sergile throughout the development of the works in the exhibition. How is a territory transmitted in a context of migration? How can a collective memory be preserved when the very places of that memory disappear?
The exhibitions will be open from 6 p.m. A reading of poems selected by Joséphine Denis will mark the opening of the evening at 6:30 p.m., accompanied by a musical performance. Ceramicist Kadidia Traoré will then present pieces created for the occasion, on which chef Paul Toussaint's appetizers, designed in dialogue with the exhibition, will be served. Literature, visual arts, music, and culinary arts come together to offer an immersive experience, carried by cultural expression, and create a moment of sharing, memory, and presence.
As capacity is limited, the event is free, but registration is required to guarantee your spot.
