Drawing on the emotional and sensory qualities of the photonovel, the crime novel, and the giallo—an Italian genre film of the 1960—this discussion explores the transposition of such characteristics into an exhibition setting. As spectacles of desire and gendered violence, these narratives also offer an opportunity to revisit an era marked by sensationalism in literature, journalism, and cinema.
