As a choral conductor, interdisciplinary artist André Pappathomas has developed and invested his work as a composer and director. As director of the Mruta Mertsi Vocal Ensemble, he has conceived and produced numerous works in conjunction with other artistic disciplines: visual arts, theatre, literature, and dance (more than 40 choreographers and performers have collaborated on the many editions of Chœur et chorégraphes).

In 2022, the Réseau des Maisons de la culture de Montréal awarded him the prize for social and environmental responsibility for Les chants de l’île, which he created with 10 choirs from as many cultural communities. [Source: Agora de la danse, 2024]
