As part of the work Le travail que l’on rêve gratuit, presented in the exhibition The Radical Imaginary II: Reclaiming Value, the performance Columbarium. Volière is an opportunity for artist arkadi lavoie lachapelle to reveal what remains hidden in the “prepared space” presented at VOX since September: fields of flowers, lines of fire and intimate mourning.

In collaboration with inspiring musician Vie Charles and researcher Marie-Pier Beauséjour, the work will be brought to life in a back and forth between listening and speaking, overview and focused attention, seat and condensation.

Columbarium. Volière swill be an opportunity to explore together how to “create with” while also honouring the ways in which we “live without”. Everyone is welcome!

My name is arkadi lavoie lachapelle. I was born the same year as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Polytechnique massacre in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal.

Marie-Pier Beauséjour is a doctoral student at Concordia University. Combining sociology, anthropology and public health, her research focuses on the issues of accessibility to funeral care and services and their impact on people’s lives.

Vie Charles is a singer-songwriter and improviser interested in both the traditional and singular aspects of music. She is involved in contrasting musical projects ranging from grunge, triphop, jazz and pop songs to new music.
