Moridja Kitenge Banza. Once Upon a Time, Malaika

VOX invites young students to discover contemporary art with this brand new exhibition created just for them! Through an immersive installation combining monumental sculpture, video, and imaginary artifacts, Moridja Kitenge Banza offers kids ages 6 to 12 an artistic reflection on how History is narrated and passed on.

Princess Malaika travels through time to meet her ancestors and learn more about the history of her people. Following in her footsteps, children journey through places marked by the legacy of colonization in Africa and the Caribbean, the transatlantic slave trade, and the exploitation of natural resources.

Visit and mediation activity for primary school classes

In addition to a guided tour of the exhibition, a workshop designed by specialized mediators invites children to create an imaginary geographical area to reflect on the organization and exploitation of the territory.
