Alexandre Larose
An artist of the moving image, Alexandre Larose is interested in the representation of space and the figure, and the way in which the specific nature of the cinematographic medium sets them in motion. Although Alexandre Larose enjoys working alone with a camera in hand, his explorations have also led him to collaborate with engineers and technicians to study and transform the camera's point of view.
His films have been the subject of monographic presentations at film festivals and exhibitions, including at the Mostra de Cinema Periféric (A Coruña, Spain, 2022), in the FIFA Experimental section of the Festival International du Film sur l'Art (Montreal, 2018), at the Halifax Independent Film Festival (2016) and at the Austrian Film Museum (Vienna, 2017). His installations have been exhibited at the George Eastman Museum (Rochester, NY, 2017), the WRO Media Art Biennale (Wrocław, 2017), La Bande Vidéo (Québec, 2016) and the Cinémathèque québécoise (Montréal, 2015). His films are distributed in France by Light Cone and in Canada by CFMDC. [Source: VOX, 2024]
